It has conducted in a survey by Minnesota State High School League in 2007 and reported by National Federation of State High School Association that the average GPA of a high school athlete was 2.84 compared to a student who had not involved in athletics whose had an average GPA of 2.68. Another survey also showed that the athletic students missed less school classes than their non-athletic fellows. Athletic students missed 7.4 days and their respective fellows who were non-athletic students missed around 8.8 days.
It has also seen that being an athletic student there are qualities for teamwork and cooperation. Students who take part in sports activities personifies best leadership qualities and cooperative behavior with the team members. It has also observed the social relationship also gets better for student who shows their part in the sports. Patience and consistency also come with a regular sports play. If we combine all the qualities for a high school student, its right to say that being an athletic figure it helps and motivates most of the student.
